I have autism spectrum disorder, but high functioning and Type 1 diabetes. Creative writing is a good outlet for me. I’m a movie buff who loves to read. I have an impeccable memory of the movies that won the Academy Award for Best Picture. For example, Birdman was 2014’s Best Picture winner.
I have always loved writing since I was a child. When I was a teenager, I considered being a movie critic, but that was off the table when I realized that being a critic would be difficult. Besides, I didn’t always agree with the professional critics. Then, I considered a career of being a published author, movie screenwriter, or music lyricist. In my early to mid-twenties, I have written several books, screenplays, and songs. I joined an online group for feedback. It was mostly helpful. One of the members was a little harsh. And the other members were had other commitments. Sometimes, I would help them with their projects. I quit that group.
One day, I had a reality check while going over the pros and cons lists. Entering the publishing and the film industries would be extremely difficult no matter how hard I tried. So, I chose to blog as a platform for my writing. WordPress was suitable for my nonfiction blogs, not my fiction stories or poetry. No regrets in making that decision. Generally, anyone can be a writer. They would choose what platform is right for them.
By the way, tellymurray and Wondergirl were just former names. My current name is Lonestar Lady. I deleted my Facebook page because it was no longer needed.
